Hi all, this happened about 2 years ago. I worked as a client representative at an animal clinic. At the time, we only had about 3 doctors. All doctors were fully booked for the week.
  • A client, let's call her Karen, called demanding to be seen for a wellness and vaccines appointment ASAP. I took a look at the schedule; the next
  • availability was a week out (most vets are fully booked for 3 weeks in SF). I asked for her availability and she proceeded to yell at me.
  • Karen was screaming on the phone that she needed to be seen today so she could board her dog. She was traveling and leaving the following day. I unfortunately had to apologize
  • for the situation and informed her we had no availability. We could put her on a waiting list and if we had any cancellations today, we would give her a call. This pissed her off even more.
  • She demanded to be squeezed in and said that she was on her way. She asked me to call the next appointment and have her rescheduled. Ya'll, the audacity of this woman had my flabbers gasted. I told her we could not and I was not willing to do that.
  • She then proceeded to ask me for the client's contact info so she could call her herself!! Like WTH!! I again said no, she yelled some more, and hung up.

  • marshmallowglows I love how her brilliant solution to her problem was to just create the exact same problem for someone else. It screams entitlement in another level
  • Talia Whim Some folks act like a full schedule is optional. You can't just bump another pet's appointment because someone didn't plan ahead. Just loved the way you handled it, very professional.
  • cherryswish Imagine being the next client and getting a call from some random woman demanding you give up your appointment. That would be a wild story to tell at the dog park.
  • mcfiddlestien After she asked for the clients number I would have happily. supplied her with the nonemergency number for the local police and spent the rest of the day thinking of the different possible ways that call would have gone and laughed my ass off at each scenario.
  • Knever It would be funny if you pretended make the appointment, and when she got there, inform her, "Sorry, somebody else called and wanted to be squeezed in so they asked us to cancel your appointment."
  • TheQuarantinian As soon as they raise their voice just hang up. No argument, no debate just hang up. Call starts out with them screaming? Hang up without a word. Consistently. Every time.
  • davewh "The lack of planning on your part does not create an emergency on my part."
  • SueBeee lol. God people are such idiots. I had someone do this to me in person. Her dog was so itchy and uncomfortable and needed to be seen RIGHT NOW OR ELSE. The waiting room was completely full, she could actually see what was going on. I do believe there was alcohol involved.
  • colborne 'had my flaggers gasted'. I'm gonna steal that.
  • NYC-WhWmn-ov50 I am constantly amazed at how nasty people are to all tge workers at their vet clinic but yet demand to be seen immediately because their baby wofofybottoms so desperately needs them. Gee, if Woofy needs then so badly, shouldnt you want to make them your best pals in the world who just LOVE to see you, instead of trying to lock the door when they know you're coming.
